Instant Family

This Week: Instant Family

Yeah, I’m seeing Crimes of Grindelwald on Sunday for my mother’s birthday, so can’t see it today. And I have no interest in Widows(or really know what it is). So Instant Family.

This is a good movie. It’s predictable, it is not a blockbuster “must see five times in theaters” movie, but it’s good. I highly recommend this if you have AMC A List, MoviePass or some other unlimited movies program, or when it comes out on Netflix or something.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll briefly think about becoming a foster parent before realizing you can barely support yourself and strongly consider having someone foster you instead.

I do thank this movie for not doing the stupid moment of having the kids overhear the foster parents talk about returning the foster kids as a stupid plot wrench. Because I totally saw that coming, but fortunately no kids are hanging outside the doorway and they go on with the movie.

Anywho, check it out on a cheap movie night.

Next Week: Ralph Breaks the Robin Creed II

A Meowy Halloween

THE WORST HALLOWEEN movies EVER!

Tonight: A Meowy Halloween

This is essentially a long youtube video.

A detective is apparently cursed because his father arrested a psychic for practicing without a permit. So he is basically cursed to be a fool and be constantly harassed by the supernatural. Oh and he has a cat that is trying to solve a ghost mystery.

If you enjoy random references to everything, you might enjoy this. This movie is built on you enjoying the cute pets and the movie references. If you can survive on that alone, this is your movie.

The movie just doesn’t have a lot of plot or things to hold my interest. The detective is investigating a lady’s house where children arrive, and a few hours later, witches, ninjas, and monsters leave. While he is doing this, his partner describes other situations going on that are much more exciting. Rinse and repeat about 3 or 4 times.

He eventually ends up beating up a random guy in a costume, and once he finds out it is just a guy in a costume, he claims to have been fearing for his safety and claims that allows cops to get away with anything.

Go to hell movie.

So he then finds out the lady makes costumes for other people for free and then the detective is about to hit on the costume maker, until she introduces him to her wife. As a punch line.

Once again, go to hell movie.

Ultimately, I do enjoy the references, but outside of that, it’s a stupid movie. Didn’t expect anything really good, so I guess it meets expectations. Unfortunately.

Tomorrow: So we went from Birds, to Cats, so maybe it is time to give canines a chance.

Obligatory Welcome Post (mind the dust)

(originally posted on Feb 1st, 2019 when I created the site, date changed in order to be the oldest post on the site)

Welcome to the first post.  If you have already read everything else, you’ve reached the beginning and have nowhere left to go.  If you are looking to start from the beginning, you can start here, though technically this is the middle.

I have been posting random stuff on my Facebook wall for a few years now.  I’ve posted the occasional midnight review back when I had a job that got off at 11pm and I would then drive to the local Cinemark and see a new movie at midnight.  Then around Christmas time in 2016, I decided to post my favorite Christmas songs.  In October 2017, I decided to watch a bunch of the Classic Universal Monster Movies (which I never finished).  Then later that Christmas, I posted my favorite Christmas Movies.  In 2018, I did “The Worst Halloween movies Ever!” in October and “The Worst Christmas movies Ever!” in December.  While doing all that, I would occasionally post reviews of current movies that I saw in theaters.

Well it is all well and good to post for the captive audience of my Facebook friends list, I wanted to at least ATTEMPT a larger audience.  I tried posting publicly and IMMEDIATELY got a bot trying to advertise illegal downloads.  So back to private I went.  However, I still wanted to put my posts out there, so here we are.

Hopefully in the coming weeks, I will get my back log of posts up.  Then I will get them categorized so you can look at what you specifically want to.  Until I have all that up, this will be considered “under construction” and will probably permanently stay that way because I’m to lazy to finish what I st
